On Sunday, November 4th, after Achievement Day, the Up & Coming 4-H Club met for a brief meeting. Vice-President Monte Wade called the meeting to order in the absence of the president. Jozalyn Potter led the American pledge and Kerby Baars led the 4-H pledge.
Amber Jensen read the secretaries report in the absence of the secretary. Chelsea Baars read the treasurer’s report.
Members were reminded to save pop cans, UPC labels and Decker’s receipts.
The nominating committee presented the slate of officers. A unanimous ballot was cast for all officers. Our new officers are President - Chelsea Baars; Vice President - Tucker Stephens; Secretary – Stevie Mellott; Treasurer – Mattie Pfister; Reporter – Kerby Baars; Historians – Riley Shaw & Sadie Sturman; and Leaders – Teri Stephens & JoAnn Wade.
Our next meeting is Monday, December 10th at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds. We will be wrapping gifts for Santa’s Helpers. Bring you scissors! We will also be having our Christmas supper & gift exchange. Bring a non-gender item from $7-$10! If you would like to bring something for supper please contact Terri or JoAnn.

On Sunday, October 14th, the Up & Coming 4-H met at the fairgrounds. Vice-President Monte Wade called the meeting to order in the absence of the president. Kerby Baars & Amber Jensen led the American pledge and Zack Stephens and Sadie Sturman led the 4-H pledge.
There was no secretary’s report. Two thank you notes were read. Chelsea Baars read the Treasurer’s report.
Members were reminded to save pop cans, UPC labels and Decker’s receipts.
Information from the newsletter was given concerning the Halloween Carnival & Achievement Day.

There were no demonstrations.

Information from the newsletter was given concerning Jr. Leader Meeting, 4-H Council meeting, Halloween Carnival, National 4-H week, Achievement Day, fair thank-you note reminder, and a reminder to pick up your fair projects from the Ext. Office.

On Wednesday, July 25, at 1p.m., the Up & Coming 4-H met at the fairgrounds. Vice-president Monte Wade called the meeting to order in the absence of the president. Garrett Wurdeman and Molly Mosley led the American pledge and Sarah Kemnitz and Jake Heil led the 4-H pledge.
Amber Jensen read the minutes in the absence of the secretary. Tucker Stephens read the Treasurer’s report in the absence of the treasurer.
Members were reminded to save pop cans, UPC labels and Decker’s receipts.
Information from the newsletter was given concerning 4-H Fun Day, the ultrasound contest, county fair activities, fair thank you note reminder, State Fair, and Record Book due dates.
Jr. Leaders Dax Dockery and Taten Gaukel played “Animal Jeopardy” with club members during the meeting.
Sadie Sturman did a demonstration on “Parts of a Compound Bow”, and Riley Shaw did a demonstration on “How to Make a Frosting Rose”.
Our next meeting is September 9th at 1p.m. Bring your finished record books!

On Thursday, June 14th, after our club tour at the fairgrounds, the Up & Coming 4-H club held its meeting. Vice-president Monte Wade called the meeting to order in the absence of the president. Sadie Sturman & Chelsea Baars led the American pledge and Miranda Mosley & Lexi Dockery led the 4-H pledge.
McKayle Mosley read the minutes. There was no treasurer’s report.
Members were reminded to save pop cans, UPC labels and Decker’s receipts. Members were also reminded of the showmanship progress show and of upcoming club events.
Information from the newsletter was given concerning Family Consumer Science activity days, livestock & horse judgings, horse riding clinics, 4-H Council meeting, entry due dates, 4-H set-up day, County Fair & State Fair dates, 4-H fun day, & the record book due date.
A club float committee was organized and met after the meeting.
Jozalyn Potter did a demonstration on “The Journey from Hideous to Beautiful.” and Amber Jensen did a demonstration called “Isn’t it Ironic?”
Afterwards we had a nice carry-in BBQ supper.
Our next meeting is July 25th after the 4-H set-up day. Bring a sack lunch!

On Friday, May 25, after planting flowers and putting out flags, the Up & Coming 4-H club met at the fairgrounds. After sitting down to a nice supper, vice-president Monte Wade called the meeting to order in the absence of the president. Jozalyn Potter & Miranda Mosley led the American pledge, and Mattie Pfister and Riley Shaw led the 4-H pledge.

Information from the newsletter was given concerning Livestock, Horse, & Vegetable Judgings, weigh-ins, Youth Quality Assurance, Family Consumer Science Activity Days, & Horse Riding Clinics.
Club Tour was voted to be June 14 at 4:30pm at the Fairgrounds. After viewing everyone’s projects we will have a carry-in BBQ and a short meeting.
Kerby Baars did a demonstration on what you need for a sheep project. Chelsea Baars did a demonstration on how to shear a sheep, and Pacen Gifford did a demonstration on how to use LEGO’s Digital Designer.
Thanks to Sadie Sturman and Riley for snacks & drinks after school & everyone for helping with supper.

On Sunday, April 15, the Up & Coming 4-H club met at the fairgrounds. There were 20 members in attendance. President Jace Musfelt called the meeting to order. Tucker Stephens & Carson Wurdeman led the American pledge, and Kerby Baars and Amber Jensen led the 4-H pledge.
For roll call, members answered what they had accomplished with their projects. McKayle Mosley read the minutes. Allison Whiting gave the treasurer’s report.

Information from the newsletter was given concerning the Shooting Sports meetings, Youth Quality Assurance, Family Consumer Science days, Livestock judging orientations, the County Shoot, project add or drop deadline, and Horse and Dog ID paper deadline.
Congrats goes out to all of our club members who attended State Meat & Wool Judging. Niobrara County had the Champion Jr. Wool, Reserve Champion Jr. Meat, and Champion Sr. Meat teams. Several members also earned high individual honors. Well done everyone!
We will be planting flowers at the hospital and fairgrounds, and putting flags on the Veteran’s graves for Memorial Day at our next meeting.
Zack Stephens did a demonstration on the parts of a boot.

Our next meeting is May 25th at 3:30 p.m. We will gather at the fairgrounds before planting flowers and putting out flags.

On Sunday, February 12, the Up & Coming 4-H club met at the fairgrounds. There were 23 members in attendance. President Jace Musfelt called the meeting to order. Dax Dockery and Jesse Bunner led the American pledge, and Monte Wade and Zack Stephens led the 4-H pledge.
For roll call, leaders JoAnn Wade and Terri Stephens handed out pieces of paper for members to write down goals to accomplish by next meeting. Allison Whiting gave the treasurer’s report.
Members were reminded to save pop cans, UPC labels and Decker’s Receipts.
All were encouraged to attend the challenge shoot. Information from the newsletter was given concerning the Natrona County Cat Show, the first livestock judging orientation, Leader Re-Certification, Wool Judging, the Ultrasound contest, and the next Jr. Leader and 4-H Council meetings.
Congrats to Dax and Zack who have been selected to attend the Citizen Focus Washington trip. Kudos also to Jace who will be attending the National 4-H Congress. Jace welcomed new members Kerby Baars, Skylar Jackson, Sarah Kemnitz, Molly Mosley, Jozalyn Potter, and Riley Shaw. Dawn Crouse made Thank you notes that club members signed to send to local military members for Valentines Day. Thanks Dawn! JoAnn and Terri distributed record books after the meeting.
The demonstration sign- up sheet was passed around. If you haven’t signed up for a demonstration, you are deeply encouraged to do so. It helps strengthen your public speaking skills. Monte did a demonstration on How to Make a Goat Collar. Dax did a demonstration on coyote hunting.

Up & Coming 4-H Club Meeting - November 2011

On Sunday, November 6, after the 4-H Achievement Day program, the Up & Coming 4-H members met for a brief meeting. The members that attended the Achievement Day program were in attendance.
President Dax Dockery called the meeting to order. New member Sarah Kemnitz was welcomed with a round of applause. New Officers were then elected. Jace Musfelt was elected president and Monte Wade vice-president. New secretary is McKayle Mosley, Allison Whiting treasurer, Mattie Pfister Historian, and Chelsea Baars Reporter. Terri Stephens and JoAnn Wade were voted our new leaders.
After electing officers President Dockery asked if we wanted to do anything special for the holidays at our next meeting. After discussion, it was decided that we donate $100 worth of wrapping paper to Santa’s Helpers and that we will help them wrap gifts at our next meeting.
Our next meeting will be December 8, at 6 p.m. at the fairgrounds. We will be having dinner.
If you would like to bring something for supper please contact Terri or JoAnn. We will also be having our $5 gift exchange. Please keep in mind that your gift could end up in the hands of a boy or a girl!
