Cloverleaf 4-H Club Meeting - November 2010

The Cloverleaf 4-H club meeting was called to order on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at 3:30 p.m. by president, Caleb Shaner, at the fairgrounds. Zach Vandeberg led the American pledge and Mikayla Vandeberg led the 4-H pledge. Since there was no secretary book, role call was not held. There were no secretary and treasurer reports given. Several bills were submitted to the club members to be paid. Hannah Shaner motioned to pay the bills. Sara Fahy seconded it. The motion carried.

Under old business, seven club members attended the Halloween carnival. We had too many fish and ended up selling tickets to get rid of them. If we do the Halloween carnival next year, we need to make sure there are enough people willing to do it and that the people that sign up follow through. Over all it was a great success and a lot of fun. The club is offering to buy more t-shirts with the club's name on them if anyone is interested in them as a Christmas gift for a friend or if you are a new member.

Under new business, our service project for November will be the food drive for Thanksgiving. Mrs. Vandeberg will follow up soon with each of us on the date and time. We are serving lunch at the Christmas bazaar on December 4th. A sign up sheet for time/work slots was passed out. We hope it will be a great success like it has been in the past. A couple of ideas were given on what to make for lunch. The 4-H council is selling us a roaster full of the delicious meat that was used during 4-H Achievement Day. The options were beef vegetable soup or beef sandwiches. We are also considering chili or chicken noodle soup. It was decided that the leaders would make the final decisions on the menu later. The next junior leader meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Our next 4-H club meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7th. enrollment or re-enrollment 4-H forms are due in to the extension office by January 1, 2011. However, the office people would greatly appreciate receiving them as soon as possible. Election took place, but since there was no opposition for any of the offices, no votes had to be cast. Caleb Shaner is president. Anna Stoheker is vice president. Mikayla Vandeberg is treasurer. Alyssa Barnsdale is secretary. Sarah Shaner is historian. Hannah Shaner is reporter. Vanya Barnsdale is caller. Anna Stoheker gave a presentation after elections. She filled a glass of water with salt and demonstrated how an egg would float in it. The meeting was adjourned.
